Jagiellonian University to become a founding member of a new cooperation network

On 20 April, a Letter of Intent establishing a new university cooperation network – European University Alliance – was signed at the University of Bologna. The Jagiellonian University was represented by JU Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds Prof. Stanisław Kistryn.




Aside from the Jagiellonian University, the network will include Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgia), Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), University of Bologna (Italy), University of Paris (France), and Free University of Berlin (Germany). In time, additional member universities are expected to join.

The aim of the European University Alliance is to foster cooperation in the area of education and research. The join and coordinated voice of the universities will support national and international governments in debates concerning politics, society, and science. The member universities’ shared historical roots and core values will allow for establish an effective network that will directly advance the development of European culture and research.
