On 18 December the Jagiellonian University was visited by a delegation from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office. They were greeted by JU Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak and Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation Prof. Adam Jelonek.
The participants of the meeting debated the possibilities of strengthening the cooperation between the Jagiellonian University and Taiwan in the area of research and teaching, particularly when it comes to developing medical programmes and teaching doctors. The idea of introducing of some elements of non-conventional medicine was also touched upon.
Weber V. B. Shih has been the head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Poland since October. Previously, he was an ambassador to Saint Vincent and Grenadines and chief of mission in Latvia. He was also the director general of the Department of Economy and Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before coming to Poland, he was the secretary general of the Taiwanese International Cooperation and Development Fund.
