A team of physicians from the JU MC Clinic of Angiology took part in the Leipzig Interventional Course – LINC 2018 – the largest and most prestigious European conference on intravascular methods of blood vessels treatment.
The event was attended by almost five thousand scientists from 163 research institutions from all over the world. Two doctoral students of the Jagiellonian University Medical College, Agnieszka Wachsman and Mikołaj Maga, presented the results of their research carried out at the JU MC Clinic of Angiology and the Student Society of Clinical Angiology, which functions at the clinic. Mikołaj Maga’s poster “Use of leukotrienes and thromboxanes as new prognostic biomarker of recurring restenosis after endovascular treatment in patients with lower limb ischemia” was recognised as the best poster based on original research from among 189 presentations that entered the competition.
It is worth stressing that there were no age categories in the competition, so young researchers from the JU Medical College competed not only with their peers, but also with more experienced internationally distinguished experts from the field of angiology, vascular surgery and interventional radiology.
The participation in the conference was funded from the grant “Najlepsi z Najlepszych 2.0” by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
