The Confucius Institute in Kraków moves to new premises

The Centre of Chinese Language and Culture "Confucius Institute in Kraków" of the Jagiellonian University has moved to new premises. For staff and students this means not only the change of address, but also tremendous improvement of work and study conditions. The new building at ul. Oleandry 2a was officially opened on 15 May 2019 by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Wojciech Nowak and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Poland Liu Guangyuan.

The main celebrations were held on Friday, May 10, and included the presentation of Merentibus Medal to Professor Mario Suwalsky – a distinguished researcher from the University of Concepción, Chile and a former Polish Honorary Consul to Concepción.

An international group of researchers from the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology at the Jagiellonian University have produce a super-stable artificial protein ball that apparently defies the rules of geometry and may have applications in materials science and medicine. The results of the research will be published in the forthcoming issue of Nature.
