JU MC researcher joins the European Board of Paediatric Urology

Prof. Rafał Chrzan from the Jagiellonian University Medical College was nominated as a member of the European Board of Paediatric Urology, which is part of the European Union of Medical Specialists. The body consists of distinguished paediatric surgeons and urologists. Prof. Chrzan will also serve as the EBPU secretary.

Prof. Rafał Chrzan specialises in paediatric urology. He received training in this field at the University Medical Center Utrecht under the supervision of Tom de Jong and then worked for many years as a paediatric urology consultant at the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam. Since 1 September 2016 he has been the head of the Clinic of Paediatric Urology at the University Children’s Hospital in Kraków-Prokocim.

The European Board of Paediatric Urology is a non-profit organisation whose main goal is to promote this field of medicine and support its development through various means, including fostering the exchange of experience between physicians who treat genitourinary system disorders in children.

UEMS is an association of the largest national ogranisations representing specialist physicians from the European Union and European Economic Area member states. The organisation is active in all areas of doctors’ professional development: speciality training, European speciality examinations, professional development, and works to ensure the highest standards in medical care provided by the specialists.

The UEMS includes the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, which provides accreditation to live educational events and e-learning materials and ensures the exchangeability of educational credit points in the EU, USA, and Canada.
