JU expands cooperation with Dalian University of Foreign Languages

On 30 November 2017 the Jagiellonian University was visited by a delegation from Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL) – one of the leading Chinese higher education institutions specialising in language studies, which also offers study programmes in a number of other disciplines.

The meeting participants included the JU Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak, the Rector of Dalian University of Foreign Languages Prof. Liu Hong, the JU Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation Prof. Adam Jelonek, as well as heads of selected faculties and other units from both universities.

The discussion mainly focused on the creation of Polish Studies programme at DUFL, the establishment of joint and double degree graduate, undergraduate and PhD programmes, as well as the development of student and academic staff exchange. The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding as the basis for cooperation in the abovementioned areas.

Dalian University of Foreign Languages, established in 1964, is a highly ranked Chinese institution of higher education. It has over 1,100 academic staff and more than 15,000 students. It runs study programmes at bachelor’s and master’s level in many different fields, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic Studies, Chinese Literature, Art Design, Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Tourism Management, International Economy and Trade, IT and Computer Studies, Journalism, and Musicology.
