CWUR ranking: JU continues to outperform other Polish universities

For the third consecutive year, the Jagiellonian University is the best Polish University according to the ranking of world’s top 1000 universities published by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR).

The CWUR ranking takes into account such factors as the quality of education (based on the alumni’s international achievements), alumni employment, academic staff achievements, publications, citations, and international patent filings.

US universities top the ranking: Harvard University, Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology again took the first, second and third place respectively. The top five also included UK higher education institutions: the University of Cambridge (4th place) and the University of Oxford (5th place).

The ranking list includes 7 Polish higher education institutions: the Jagiellonian University (421st, up 8 places), the University of Warsaw (464th, down 15 places), Warsaw University of Technology (666th, down 21 places), the AGH University of Science and Technology (857, -38), the University of Wrocław (888, +2), the Nicholaus Copernicus University in Toruń (944, -56), and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (954, -32).
