The campaign to help homeless animals in Kraków and its vicinity has been held annually for 11 years. Students and academics collect animal feed, medicines and toys, to be donated to animal shelters. A collection is also held to raise funds for equipment and resources chosen by the shelters’ staff.
This year’s collection will take place from 20 November to 17 December 2017. The detailed location of baskets and collection boxes in the buildings of Kraków institutions of higher education as well as the places of fundraising events will be announced right before its start. The participating institutions include the Jagiellonian University, the University of Pedagogy, the University of Agriculture, the AGH University of Science and Technology, the Polish Academy of Sciences, Cracow University of Technology, the University of Economics, and Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design. The donated gifts will be given to animal shelters in Kraków, Harbutowice and Miechów. The campaign takes place under the honorary auspices of the Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Wojciech Nowak.
1390 kilograms of animal feed and 9 thousand zlotys was collected during the last year's campaign, as well as 852 blankets. With your help and support, the organisers hope to collect even more this year!
