The conference is addressed to all scholars and students interested in the study of the Anglo-Saxon period. It seeks to explore different aspects of the Anglo-Saxon world and its reception in later centuries. This edition of the conference will try to map the presence of Anglo-Saxon themes across time, from the Middle Ages until the present day.
The conference promotes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the Anglo-Saxon period. We invite papers (in English) from various fields of research, including literature, culture, historical linguistics, palaeography, history, etc.
Specific topics may address, but are not limited to:
- Literary and other representations of the Anglo-Saxon past
- Diachronic and synchronic approach to Old English language
- Historical reconstruction or re-enactment
- The changing approaches and methodologies in Anglo-Saxon studies
- Famous historical figures connected with the development of Anglo-Saxon studies
- Old English historical sites and tourism
There is no conference fee and all the conference materials will be free of charge. The paper submission deadline is 3 April 2017.
