JU students succeed in the regional edition of a prestigious programming contest

Students of Analytical Computer Science from the JU Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science took 2nd place in the Central European Regional Contest – the first tier of ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. The team consisted of Vlad Hlembotskyi, Franciszek Stokowacki, and Michał Zieliński.

The contest took palce in Zagreb from 17 to 20 November 2017. The JU team’s academic supervisors were Prof. Paweł Idziak, Grzegorz Guśpiel and Krzysztof Maziarz from the JU Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. The first place was taken by a team from the University of Warsaw.

The second JU team, also consisting of Analytical Computer Science students (Weronika Grzybowska, Rafał Burczyński, and Kamil Rajtar) took the 10th place.

PKO Bank Polski is the main partner of the JU representation.

The students take part in the project "Programiści przyszłości 2.0" (Programmers of the Future 2.0) within the framework of the Operational Programme "Knowledge Education Development", co-funded from the European Social Fund, the main goal of which is to train professional programmers, including education in mathematics and mathematical foundations of programming.
