The Jagiellonian Library, the Austrian Library, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw, and the Austrian Consulate General in Kraków are organising the exhibition “Calliope Austria: Women in Society, Culture and the Sciences”. It presents 200 years of history through biographies of extraordinary Austrian women, who have significantly contributed to the cultural identity of their country, but often went unnoticed in the official Austrian historiography.
The exhibition tells the story of aristocrats, artists, salon hosts, actors, actors, directors, composers, singers, scholars, politicians and women’s rights activists. The common motif of the entire exhibition is the emancipation of women.
Project organiser: Manfred Thumberger
The admission is free.
